Soccer Field Diagram : Uncover Soccer Formation Secrets

Soccer field diagram

Just like a timetable is made for a specified time, drawing a soccer field diagram to train the kids on various positions and soccer formations helps in it’s smooth functioning. When the kids are younger, say between 4 to 6 years in age, it is better to make them play in small sided soccer, like a 3 v 3, or a 4 v 4 without goalkeepers.

As the kids grow, you can make them play a 5 v 5 with a goalie. There are a lot of advantages. This will result in kids having a lot more fun, learn the theory of the game better, and get touch the ball many times.

This is an age where the kids are only learning to pass the ball and control it. Also start coaching them on various formations and positions. This is the appropriate time to select players as forwards or defenders. Also, it’s for you to see that they arrive at their positions to the greatest extent.

With time, the number of players will someday increase with the size of the soccer field. Creating formations then would become a tad complicated. However, you must still allot the players different positions and make sure that they are honestly working on playing from those positions.

Soccer formation

Once you’ve selected the formations, talk about these with your players. Make it clear to the players the idea behind designating a particular player for a given position from among many of them. For this reason, a soccer field diagram is very handy. It’s easy for kids to learn by looking at the diagrammatic version. There would also be some players who learn by reading the printed content or by watching you perform drills on the field.

There are a few rules and soccer tactics that are a part of every soccer position, like defenders, midfielders, and forwards. These descriptions are apt for a 2-2-2 formation in a 7 v 7 game. These directives are broad but you can modify them to suit your plans for the team.

As an illustration, you may choose to engage 3 midfielders instead of 2. You may need your center midfielder to act aggressively on offence or simply mark the midfielders from the opposition on defense. You may like your wing defenders to take all throw-ins. There can be many alterations.

Apart from the diagram, it is nice to put your thoughts on a piece of paper. This gives the players a chance to read through your plan and instructions in writing and they understand it better that way. The parents can also glance through it and get to know your views and goals for the team and individual players.

Teach soccer positions with the help of field diagrams doesn’t matter what else you choose to do. It is a great tool in your hands that can save you a lot of time and energy in explaining formations.

What’s stopping you then? Move ahead and make the most of a soccer field diagram to teach your kids several formations and positions on field. There is tons of valuable information about youth soccer available on our youth soccer coaching community. Subscribe today and enjoy the benefits.

Performing Live

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

If you want to give your best singing performance, you need to know how to behave, so here are a few live performance tips to help you out:

Rehearsals

Make sure you practice with the band. Before you go on stage, have a minimum of one dress rehearsal. Don’t read the lyrics on your last dress rehearsal, sing everything from memory.

Outfit Selection

The outfit you choose to wear for the live performance can make or break the show. Get used to your outfit before you step on stage. It is important to ensure that you are able to move comfortably in your outfit.

Walking across the stage

Practice walking to the place you’ll stand on the stage. Knowing how to walk across a stage and land in place isn’t as easy as it sounds. The idea is to stop in place, but land in the right posture as well. Walk to the spot and keep your posture.

Keep the speaker turned away from you

Singing with a band can be confusing, at least the first time. You’re going to have some trouble hearing yourself if the speakers are turned away. For the first few times you could ask to have a speaker turned towards you. The sound from the speaker can be a distraction, especially if you consider how loudly the band can play. You need to learn to pick out the instrument that plays the melody line.

Remember to smile

When you go on stage, smile at the audience. Even if you are nervous, a smile, will make you appear more confident. Make sure your smile doesn’t look fake as you cross the stage.

Acknowledge your audience

When you are singing, you might not know when it’s time to pay attention to the audience. Singers can’t always sing intimate songs in an intimate locale, but you can imagine yourself in a cozy locale if this helps you with your performance. The best thing you can do is watch the professionals and see how they do it.

Don’t let distractions put you off

Unlike in rehearsal, a live performance can have plenty of distractions. People can do many things in an audience, such as coughing or even leaving early. Most people are ignorant as to  how this can distract a performer, and because you are the performer you are expected to be professional about it. That being said, it would be wise to stage a few distractions as you practice at home. The best way to ignore distractions is to have friends distract you and see how lo you can ignore it.

What to do with your hands

Make sure you don’t do anything strange with your hands while you are performing; keep them at your sides if you can. Though your sides might not seem like a great place, it is at least a safe place. If you choose to gesture, make it a complete gesture and make sure your elbows move out away from your body. Clasping your hands in front of you is another option for your hands.

I hope these performance tips were helpful to you. Of course before you present yourself to the crowds, you’ll need to do some work on your singing voice. I highly recommend the Singing Success vocal training program. Also if you’re struggling to promote you and your band, you’ll definitely want to check out Social Bandmaker. It’ll teach you everything you need to know about succeeding as a performer and making your mark on the music industry.

Soccer Practice Games: Killer Tips On Game Progression

Soccer practice games

Soccer practice games are immensely important especially in comparison to drills and it’s not hard for someone like me to understand this. Initially, the games must focus on helping the kids acquire the skills and improving their movement with the ball. Still, you must be aware of some points that need to be taken care of while the kids evolve with their soccer training.

We’ve already discussed it previously that kids enjoy the game more and also get a chance to work upon their individual style of play when divided into groups. Initially, restrict the size of the groups to very few players which will give them enough freedom to make decisions out of their free will.

As a result of this, the kids will find it easy to roam around in the field when space is more; get in contact with the ball more frequently, and they’ll be answerable for their choices because of few members in the group.

Conversely, keep looking for the time when kids get used to playing in small groups and show improvement as you now need to make some changes. Now is the time to launch progressions in soccer practice games. This means that more players should be added, game rules should become stricter, and make the kids practice in larger fields. Now you must initiate comprehensive strategies that serve the dual purpose of honing individual skills of players along with team’s objectives.

Soccer Training

There is something that I’d like to mention here and it calls for your special attention. A majority of coaches tend to put too much pressure on kids to make them ready to play live tournaments very early in time. Please remember that shortcuts don’t work here. It won’t help you to mechanize the process here as it does in soccer drills. Kids should progress naturally with time.

The designs may not work well if you expose students to competition, teach them new things early in their training, and lay a lot of emphasis on rules. This obstructs their process of learning and growth.

As the kids make a transition from small groups to large ones, they should instill in themselves a sense of camaraderie. It is an important transition from concentrating on your own skills to thinking about how your skills will help the team win.

In this situation along with games, it is vital to hold discussions also. Keep in mind that the players now understand the game and its techniques. Therefore, it is not right to underestimate their skills in soccer exercises.

When you invite them to share their views, they feel good about it and become more responsible.

The games should now concentrate on making the kids think proactively about winning matches. If they put their team above themselves, you have done well as a coach.

Your next step! To take what you’ve just learned and implement in your plan. Soccer practice games are an integral part of training routines and you just device them intelligently to help the kids make natural progress in their learning. sEnroll for our youth soccer coaching community that has a number of games and strategies to make training sessions fun and educational.

Soccer Field Diagram- Uncover Great Practice Plans

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Soccer field diagram

Ever wondered that a soccer field diagram can be of immense help in case of devising practice sessions? It has already been discussed that it is a must to document the plans you have for the training season. The plans become flexible as a result allowing any kind of modifications whenever it is revised.

When you decide soccer formations for your players, make it a point that they already have full knowledge about the soccer field along with its different dimensions.

Firstly, it’s your duty as a coach to select as to what would be the agenda of the training session. In this, include the most important points like what must be taught, where, and when? You also need to identify the suitable methods and skills that the players must be trained on once you’ve zeroed down on what needs to be taught.

You must also mark down the place on the filed where the training session will happen. It’s also necessary for you to pen down the motive behind teaching a specific skill. The reason could be its possible benefits and its importance. It would be even better if you can write down the instance when this skill will be exercised.

Soccer Formations

Your practice plan should also point out the precise method that’ll be used in a particular technique. Now draw all of this on the soccer field diagram after all these things have been considered. The diagram should include the goal box, penalty box, the end line, and the arcs where the flags are placed along with the centerline and circle.

Then you need to decide about the practice gear needed for the soccer positions. Now give all the players a ball each. All players should be instructed to get their own balls. They should also carry their own water bottles to the ground.

Use cones to demarcate the various areas on the field. These also aid in putting together various soccer drills. The players should also wear practice vests that are helpful in protecting and also giving each player a different identity.

Afterwards, it is about using the goal boxes. It is a proven fact in soccer tactics that real goals should be used in sessions which introduce the element of realism. The use of flags is recommended since it helps in scrimmages. Keep a first aid kit handy that has adequate medical supplies.

Finally, keep a lot of refreshment snacks ready. You will also need ice cubes and therefore arrange a cooler where you can store them. It is recommended that you also have access to a phone which will prove useful in seeking help in medical situations.

Your next step! To take what you’ve just learned and draw a soccer field diagram. Then you must design a practice session in sync with it. Our youth soccer coaching community is a treasure of soccer resources to help you design effective sessions.

Drills For Soccer: Want To Improve Your Heading Skills?

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Drills for soccer

While practicing drills for soccer, don’t you feel irritated when players show their incapacity to head the ball correctly? Heading is a vital skill that helps the players to control or maneuver the ball while it is still in the air.

Several times in a match the ball will have to be passed in the air to get from one point to another. When it’s easy for the players to use their head for stopping and capturing the ball, it means they’ll retain the control of the ball in majority of instances.

There are some soccer drills that have the single objective of developing player’s heading skills. Let’s talk about a few of them:

The players must be divided in groups of 2 to 3 players maximum, prior to starting with these drills.

Soccer Drills

Heading volleyball: This is by far the ideal practice to understand the art of heading the ball. It can be easily performed by two players against one another in such drills for soccer. It’s similar to playing volleyball apart from that here players flip the ball over the other side of the net by using their heads in place of hands. Still, they have the freedom to serve the ball with their hands.

The teams score depending on how many times they have successfully headed the ball over the net. Badminton net can be used for performing this drill.

Juggling: This drill employs two players like in the earlier drill or just one will do. In case of a single player, he or she can juggle the ball with their forehead. Now let the ball fly up in the air and start with the practice. It is natural that this drill among all soccer exercises is the most difficult and the player must practice it hard to get better at it.

With 2 players, the ball can be thrown in the air and they head it back to each other. The player who does not allow the ball to fall down is the winner.

When throwing the ball, make the players stand apart 10 feet. Fling the ball at them and tell them to head it back. Ensure that they jump when they hit the ball. This will help them learn the trick efficiently.

It is important that they are instructed to use their forehead and sides of the head. If they do not do this, they will have headaches and there are chances of injury too.

This soccer practice is best achieved the following way; when the ball is approaching the player, he or she should focus on it and bring their forehead in line with the ball. Then raise themselves or jump and hit ball hard so that there is maximum momentum.

Next, take this learning and include these drills for soccer in your practice sessions. You will be amazed by how fast they learn to head the ball. Our youth soccer coaching community has many more informative articles, newsletters, videos and other resources that will help you train your kids even better. Register today and gain from them.

How To Stop Mountain Biking Pains and Strains

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Mountain Biking and indeed cycling in general is one of the most popular sports in the world. Part of its appeal comes from the fact that cycling can be done for fun, exercise, sport, or in a functional capacity such as commuting to work. However, those who are keen cyclists are probably aware that if precautions aren’t taken, there are a number of repetitive-strain injuries that can occur from cycling, especially mountain biking. Here we examine the causes and preventive measures for 3 of the most common cycling-related injuries.

Wrist Injury. The large and aggressive forces that are generated when riding over large bumps on uneven terrain often find their way to the cyclist’s writs by traveling directly up the bike forks. What’s more, as your upper body weight is usually pushing down on your wrists, they can often be put under a lot of strain and become inflamed or injured.Having quality suspension on the front forks of the bike will reduce a lot of the pressure, or if you cannot have suspension, make sure the forks have shock absorbing qualities like you find on the top mountain bikes

Backside Pain. You would be amazed at just how many riders report suffering from this complaint, which is usually caused by long durations of pressure and poor padding. It can actually become quite serious if left untreated and if you want ensure that you can still have children, it’s worth taking precautions. If you are going to buy a new saddle it is well worth testing it out extensively and giving it a few miles worth of use, as sometimes saddles can start off comfortable, but cause problems after a while. You can also purchase advanced cycle clothing such as padded shorts which act to dampen the effect of harmful pressure.

Knee Problems. Another issue faced by lots of riders is pain in the knees, which they often experience after a long cycle. If you lock out your knees when you are cycling this can cause problems, but most often knee problems are a result of the bike. Try making sure all your bike components have shock-absorbing qualities, such as Pinarello frames which reduce the amount of force transferred through the knee joint.
